The Lightman Group Continues Unmasking the Truth in Season Two On DVD November 9

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 15, 2010) – Most people cannot tell from demeanor or body language when others are lying — this is best left to the experts. From executive producers of “24″ and “Arrested Development” comes “Lie To Me,” a drama of a deception expert who helps uncover the truth for the FBI, local police, law firms, corporations, and individuals. Season two arrives on DVD November 9 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

“Lie to Me” stars Oscar® nominee Tim Roth (“The Incredible Hulk”, “Reservoir Dogs”) as the cheeky Dr. Cal Lightman, the world’s foremost expert on deception specializing in detecting facial micro-expressions and involuntary body-language to determine if and why someone is lying. Dr. Lightman heads the Lightman Group, a private agency assisting federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. Joining Dr. Lightman in his work is an all-star cast of Dr. Gillian Foster (Kelli Williams, “The Practice”), a gifted psychologist; Eli Loker (Brendan Hines, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), Lightman’s professional partner and lead researcher; and Ria Torres (Monica Raymund, “Law & Order Special Victims Unit”). Season two marks the highly anticipated regular role of Agent Ben Reynolds (Mekhi Phifer, “8 Mile”) who finds himself reluctantly partnering with the Lightman Group to catch serial rapists and murderers. “Lie to Me” Season Two includes 22 full-hour episodes on six DVDs for the suggested retail price of $59.99 U.S. / $69.99 Canada, respectively. NOTE: Though Amazon is listing the US release as October 12th, it will be released on November 9th. Also, you may see on different sites that the episodes on the discs appear to be listed out of order. They are actually listed in production order, but will unlikely be put on the DVD that way. Don’t forget you can pre-order the entire first season from Amazon right now on both standard DVD and Blu-Ray formats. It will be released in the US on August 25th. For UK viewers, you can order the Region 2 DVD, and the release date for you is September 14th.

I read a few days back at TVShowsOnDVD that the official release date for season one had been bumped up to August 25th. I wanted to wait it out until Amazon updated their dates. And, they have. They’re also now reporting that the release date for both the standard DVD and Blu-Ray formats is August 25th.

Now before anyone has a mutiny, word to the wise: It’s only two weeks… you’ll be fine!

As previously reported, Season One of Lie To Me is being released on both standard DVD and Blu-Ray formats. Amazon.com now has the release date as August 11, 2009. Stay tuned for any more updates regarding the release!
