Season Three Brings a New “Interest” For Lie to Me’s Cal Lightman
22 July 2010 at 10:35 pm
For that vast sea of “Callian” (Cal/Gillian) shippers out there: your excitement for a third season may have to be tempered by news of a new character that’s being introduced in season three. The character, Detective Wallowski, will be played by Monique Curnen. She’s going to be a “sexual interest” for Cal, and she “drives a wedge between him and Dr. Gillian Foster”. What type of character is she? “A great cop with a street edge and a fast subversive mind”. So what do you think? Excited? Disappointed? Indifferent? Sound off below.
NOTE: As tamuag99 pointed out in the comments, this character is listed as “recurring”. She’s not a regular character. I thought this was clear from the writeup, I apologize if it wasn’t. In addition, Dan Sackheim had revealed a little about the character via Twitter before this casting news. Here’s the scoop he gave, a follower’s question, and finally Dan’s response:
@DanSackheim: “In season 3, Lightman will be shaking off the constraints of his contract with the FBI. As a result, he will find himself in a far less healthy, far more dangerous, alliance with a mystery cop. Stay tuned”
In reply, @DSS28 asked: “So in other words, Fox didn’t like the direction of the show with the FBI angle? What does this mean for Mekhi Phifer?”
@DanSackheim: “Read between the lines.”
As more information becomes available, it will be posted. But hopefully that clears things up, or at least connects the dots for some of you.
