Ratings for Wednesday, 5/5/10

Last night’s re-airing of Lie to Me scored a 1.3/4 rating/share, with 4.44 million viewers. Also airing at the 8 o’clock hour were new episodes of “New Adventures of Old Christine” (CBS – 1.8/6, 6.43 million), “America’s Next Top Model” (CW – 1.5/5, 3.40 million), and “The Middle” (ABC, 8:30 – 2.2/7, 6.78 million). Also airing were reruns of “Minute to Win It” (NBC – 1.6/6, 5.50 million), “The Middle” (ABC, 8:00 – 1.3/5, 4.87 million), and “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8:30 – 1.8/6, 6.15 million).

    More people do not have an opportunity to fall in love with it because FOX does not promote the show NEARLY as much as some of the other shows and it’s a shame because this show would become a huge hit if they would.

    Take into account that last night was a (non) holiday, too. At least Top Model didn’t beat us! Then I’d be worried!

    Totally agree with you, Crystal! It all comes down to promotion. Look at how much they promote Glee (a little too much if you ask me), and look at what a huge hit that is now.

    I also agree that promotional advertising, or in this case a lack of promotional advertising is having a negative affect on the results. Worse yet, I’m worried that we may have lost many “regular” viewers because the hiatus is so long. I don’t think summer ratings are usually as strong as regular season ratings either…. Personally, I still can’t wait for the new episodes to start! :)
