Fox’s Kevin Reilly Talks with THR About Lie to Me’s Future

4 March 2010 at 1:17 pm

The Hollywood Reporter recently interviewed Fox’s Kevin Reilly about the future of current shows, and what the Fox TV landscape will be like in the fall. These were his comments on Lie to Me:

THR: What about “Lie to Me”?

Reilly: It’s already ordered a back nine; we’ll have 11 or so episodes left to air. We’ll pair it with another show for an original block of something and probably extend it into next summer. I already see that being a player next fall.

Maybe this is a dumb question, BUT- When he says ‘next summer’, he means this coming June, July, August-right? And then ‘next fall’ would mean fall of 2010-right?

And woohoo! This is great news!

@SassyCop Not a dumb question at all. :) I think it was just the way he said it. Since it’s the current season, I believe the idea is just what you thought. @TheLiveFeed’s other headline was: “Fox exec: ‘Fringe,’ ‘Human Target,’ ‘Lie to Me’ likely to return in fall”.

This is really good news and I can’t wait for the episodes to be on again! Thanks Kate!

What about the remainder of this season? Tractor man doesn’t seem like much of a season finale.

@Michael You’re right… but, the good news is it’s not. ;) “Tractor Man” was only the fall finale. Reilly referred to the “11 or so” episodes left remaining this season (S2), and those are the eps that will likely air into this summer. Then, if there is a third season, (which from the sounds of it there will be), that will air in the fall. Hope that clears it up a little.

Great news to me. Some light and WHEN Lie to Me returns..it will have been well worth this wait. Hopefully we won’t have to go through this kind of a wait again, though! Although still waiting “patiently mind you” for an official announcement, I remain hopeful! Lie To Me deserves to come back IMHO. YEY.

Why would a show this popular just take a hiatus right in the middle of the season?
