STORY LINE
Lightman is hired by SONNY ASKEW to investigate the murder of underground fighter ANETA MAYBIN. There’s one big problem, however: gambling addict Lightman attended Aneta’s last fight, and Reynolds wants to bust everyone associated with that fight — because underground fighting is just another form of organized crime…

[ALISON "SONNY" ASKEW] Any ethnicity. 30 – early 40s, a tough woman with shades of beauty tucked beneath a tomboy veneer, Sonny is an ex-boxer and is currently the trainer for underground fighter Orlando Lima. An acquaintance of Lightman’s, she knows him from those dark nights when his gambling jones overwhelms his better intentions — but when Orlando is suspected of murdering his female rival, Aneta Maybin, she calls on him to solve the murder. Made aware by Lightman that their “friendship” is tenuous at best, she undergoes his withering scrutiny, insisting that neither she nor Orlando killed Aneta. When Lightman is scooped up by boxing promoter / gangster Reese Kraball, Sonny hopes against hope that Lightman can clear them all and find the real killer…GUEST STAR

[REESE KRABALL] Any ethnicity. 30s – 40s. Kraball is the owner of Carpetorium, a carpet warehouse — but that’s just a front. By night, his warehouse becomes the site of underground fights where a lot of untaxed gambling money changes hands, some of it Lightman’s. A man with close connections to organized crime, who’s the object of a Federal investigation, Kraball is very unhappy when one of the fighters is murdered and a hot bright light of police interest gets poured on his business. Desperate to offer up a coerced confession to the cops and get them off his back, Kraball intends to have every possible suspect clobbered until they talk, and he reluctantly agrees to allow Lightman to try a subtler form of investigation. He later turns livid when he suspects that Lightman has been working hand in glove with the cops as well, and contemplates cleaning house by eliminating Lightman…GUEST STAR

In his 50s, originally from the Ukraine (speaks with a slight accent), Bruce is the father of the recently-murdered Aneta Maybin, and he’s apparently grieving when he and his wife are questioned by Reynolds. Having adopted Aneta when she was only 8 years old, Bruce claims to be devastated by his loss. In fact, he and his wife used Aneta as their personal slave, forced her to live like a dog for a decade, and held her in utter contempt. …GUEST STAR

[MARIE MAYBIN] Caucasian. 50s, originally from the Ukraine (speaks with a slight accent), Marie is the mother of the recently-murdered Aneta Maybin, and she’s apparently grieving when she and her husband are questioned by Reynolds. Having adopted Aneta when she was only 8 years old, Marie claims to be devastated by her loss — but she’s lying. She used Aneta as her personal slave, forced her to live like a dog for a decade, and held her in utter contempt…GUEST STAR

[ORLANDO LIMA] Hispanic. A flyweight (small) figher in his 20s, originally from South America, Orlando is an underground fighter who’s trained by Sonny Askew. Badly beaten in the ring by female fighter Aneta Maybin, Orlando suffers the embarrassment of being clobbered by a girl — and when Aneta is found shot dead, he becomes the prime suspect. Taken captive by Reese Kraball and beaten half to death all over again (but with his hands tied behind his back), Orlando refuses to admit having killed Aneta, and in fact he’s telling the truth.
