Actor Richard Burgi has been cast to play the character of state Governor and Presidential “aspirant”, Charles Brooks. The character will appear in episode 16 of season two, when Lie to Me returns later this spring. He was the apparent target of an assassination attempt that instead left a young woman dead. Lightman takes the case after being “prodded” by Clara Martin, the character played by multi-ep guest star Melissa George, and soon discovers the “attempt” is not all that it seems.
