Would have preferred he not slept with the female suspect! Boo Dr. Lightman!

Giving my first (and hopefully only) “poor.” Sooo disgusted.

Yea, I didn’t like this episode at all really. I also gave my first “poor” rating. Cal was being a real jerk the whole time, even to Gillian! And I, too, wish he hadn’t slept with that stupid blonde floozy. Also, the ending suggested that Cal hasn’t changed. Ugh, this episode put me in a bad mood :(

I think I’m going to be the sicko minority here. I was happy to see Lightman get a little action, even if it was with a Vegas Floozie. The way he kept telling Gillian that she was “smothering” him reminded me of S1. (Smothering has the word mothering in it and he told her to go mother someone else in S1). I also got a kick out of Gillian showing a little jealousy too. I thought there was going to be more to the Loker / Torres thing and I’m glad it turned out like it did. This episode was a little more predictable than ususal but all in all I’m sure I’ll be watching it again, just probably not as much as I will be watching “Honey” or “Blinded”.

I was disappointed by this episode, but I agree with what I’ve seen posted elsewhere that this would have been a more enjoyable episode if it had been earlier in the season… ie BEFORE the developments in the Cal/Gillian dynamic from “Honey” on. It had its fun moments, and Tim was fantastic as always … but it just felt “off” for me.

I liked it but i didnt like Cal. He was a real jerk, even to Gillian, which made me p.o’d.
-Liked the russian dude hitting on Gillian I must say, even though he was a killer.
-Loved Gillian in the end scene she looked amazing!
-Loved Ben’s “WOW!” at the end with Gillian
-Loved Ben, he was just awesome and amazing to Gillian when Cal was being a prick
-HATED with a mighty passion, Cal messing around with the blonde S***!

I personally LOVED the new episode. Then again, I’m a huge Loker/Torres shipper! So I was just THRILLED to see some scenes with them! Especially the ending scene. So much chemistry! And so I’m glad that we got that tonight.

I can see why Foster/Lightman shippers would be upset, though. But as a Loker/Torres fan, I’m more than happy with the episode! So I voted AWESOME! :)

I voted ok. I’m a Cal/Gillian shipper but I’m perfectly happy for them to have some fun elsewhere whilst they’re getting their act together. So, I would’ve been fine with Cal’s casual sex thing, except she was a SUSPECT! A suspect that he couldn’t even read properly! *sigh*

Plus, gambling away that extra million when they really need the money? Really?

Glad Reynolds gave Gillian the attention she deserved, and Torres/Loker were cute :)

Was annoyed at first with Cal but to be honest Gillian didn’t seem too upset…. I think she knows he’s hers and he was just being a bad boy on tour in Vegas!! She was definitely hurt over the “great view” comment. She kept saying that Vegas brought out the worst in Cal so I guess we were getting to see that….
I thought there were some great Callian moments – lots of jealousy and their usual intimate looks…
We knew he was gonna have a love interest… I dunno. He WAS mean to her tho….
I just hoped we were gonna get another Honey moment but doesn’t look like it’s gonna be anytime soon…..
Think I will have to watch it again!!
LOVED Loker and Torres!! Mean writers giving their shippers the love and not us!!! (only kidding)

Count me among those who were disappointed — I get that we’re supposed to understand Cal’s at his very worst in this particular element, as this anvil was dropped several eps ago in reference to Vegas. But he just seemed a little TOO out-of-character for me here…so alternately cold/dismissive of Gillian, and angry; being SO reckless as to potentially risk his entire company’s financial well-being (which in turn would affect his daughter) and then having the nerve to act like GILLIAN was the ridiculous one for wanting to try to rein him in even a tiny bit? Don’t. Like.

Since I’ve already written a pretty lengthy piece on the LTM forum I’m gonna save up everybody’s eyes and just go with what both @marynotpmoc and @Kate said.

I liked it. Parts of it were good, parts were eh.

I liked the wilder, younger side of Cal being shown. I liked that he showed interest in Roulette-girl and it threw him off his game. I didn’t like that it was taken as far as sleeping together. Would have been better if Gillian’s ‘smothering’ kicked in at that point. Or else they could have revealed a jealous side, and played on her already-manipulative nature. It’s possible to show his attraction to wild, dangerous things without chucking earlier development with Gillian.

Renolds’ pool tackle was epic win. Actually, he was awesome in this whole episode. Who am I kidding? He’s always awesome. Great to have a leap-first-look-second guy on this show of thinkers.

THE LOKER x TORRES. EEE. I’ve been secretly rooting for them since the pilot, much more so that CalxGillian (which I didn’t ship as more than friends until Blinded), since I felt like Loker and Torres might move that way, left to their own devices as characters. I wasn’t terribly optimistic about it, but it went that way! Hurrah!

Torres really amused me in the fact that she expressed interest in both a pedicure and an ant farm in the same episode. Really makes me think that her and Loker might work, since she seems not only be unbothered by Loker’s odd personality, but even instead amused by it, an she’s a bit odd herself if she wanted his ant farm that badly. Her throwing the Nerf football with him seemed so IC somehow, especially hitting the guy next to them. Another source of amusement at her developing character was how her voice got progressively quieter as she admitted she’d been lying.

Favorite quote: “Please… take care of them.” -Loker, regarding his ants.

I liked it. Lots of closeups of Tim. =) But I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to see him (Cal) in action (if you know what I mean). I want some kissing and fondling!

I’ve watched this episode three times, trying really hard the second two times to remind myself that the creators meant for it to air several episodes ago. I personally think it makes more sense and flows better with the Cal/Gillian storyline if it had aired before “Honey.” Gillian’s anger towards Cal about the money issues at the start of “Honey” makes a lot more sense knowing that he most likely lost a million at the roulette table. I also think that Cal really turned a corner in “Honey.” At the end of “Honey,” it seemed he was on a similar path to make the same mistake with some random girl until he got his little wake-up call and ended up at Gillian’s place instead. Since then, their relationship has taken a huge step forward. The whole Cal/Gillian thing is really the only serialized element of the show, and I think it’s foolish for Fox to reorder episodes when the writers are clearly trying to tell their story.

All that being said, I thought “Fold Equity” was still kind of weak. BUT, Tim Roth looked so freaking hot in that suit at the end, that all is forgiven.

I was so pleased by this episode.

But only ’cause I’m a HUGE Loker/Torres fan!

Aw, man…Words can’t explain how excited I was with their interactions! Ahh!

The ant farm: genious. It was just awesome.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the tension between Cal and Gillian for the episode. I think the show needed it to make them kind of realize their feelings for each other, or something like that. Cal did annoy me a bit though by sleeping with Poppy, kissing would of been fine but ugh..

Otherwise, I loved it to bits!

That episode was in the top 5 in my opinion. Lightman needed some action number 1 and i think it was to get more of her trust and if not oh well, when you’re in vegas live life. I thought the comedic banter about the roulette number was very funny the ending had me wanting to know if he won!! and ben took a guy out it was good. all around good episode, it was a good change.
