Oh my goodness!!! I loveeeeeed it! What does everyone think about the interaction between Faster and Lightman? Did she say “He would fit in with US” at the very end of the episode? Are our favorite lie detectors together?!?

I adore this show so much! Amazing episode, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Fox realizes the potential for this show and gives it a full season pick up!

I really hope so too, Allie. It’s just too great to not get the full season. And LTMaddict, I really liked the interaction between Cal and Jillian tonight too. Sometimes it’s the little things . . . ;) I think my favorite part of their interaction was when the two of them were standing together right after they tricked Emily into going to get Max–when Cal tapped Jillian on the arm and the two of them went into that other room, and Cal came up and stood close behind her…my heart jumped just a little bit.

@LTMaddict Love, love, love the interaction between Cal & Gillian! I also loved it when Emily called Gillian “Gill.” Now, if Cal would just start doing that instead of calling her Foster all the time! They looked like quite the cozy “family” at the beginning, didn’t they? I, too, caught the “us” reference at the end. :D Really looking forward to them traipsing off to Vegas at the end of the month (with Reynolds in tow, but still)!

Tonights “Black Friday” episode of LTM was EXCELLENT. Callian scenes…definitley! Yes, Gillian did say “us” at the end! They can deny it all they want, WE know! Ha. Loved how Cal got Max to open up by letting him get his anger/hurt out and then hugging him! I so so hope Fox keeps this show going! Kept you guessing on who the parents were of Max! Can’t wait for next week, unfortunately…i have to! :)

I LOVED “Black Friday”, especially the part in the beginning and at the very end with Cal, Gill and Emily. Definitely one of the best episodes for the Callian fans! My other favs were: The scene where Cal entices the 16 year old kid into a fight and then hugs his pain away was so powerful. It was also great when they tricked Emily into leading the kid back to them. Also, the Loker and Torres dynamic was great too!

    Hey guys!

LOL 3rdrock match making again? Just kidding! I did hear some references like “us” and the sorta family thing at the beginning and the absence of Zoe. Interesting. The thing with Foster (I think he calls her that to keep her at arms’ length and she lets him) and Cal is simply a best friendship. Now I am not saying that it couldn’t be more but something would really have to happen to throw them together…….maybe next episode when he is in Afghanistan? I don’t know if everyone saw the preview.

I loved the Loker/Torres sub-story. Summed up the whole reason why Lie To Me is successful, a hard truth is better than a soft lie, right?

Great episode, loved it and loving the new writing. I hope those who thought that there was a lack of comparison between those on the show and those who are famous were shown a bit, but you know what I like better? I like the explanations and points made by the staff, Foster and Cal. I don’t think there needs to be tons of comparisons between the actors on the show and famous people. I did like the gonad comment! Priceless!

I just have to ask and please guys it’s just a question, but why should Gillian and Cal be together? I’m just curious since it really doesn’t matter to me and I like their relationship as it is. I never thought he should be back with Zoe at all but why Gillian? I like her and think she is great but are they really a great match? They complement each other for sure but so do best friends and if you get them into a romantic relationship you change the whole dynamic of the show. Could be an interesting curve though….

Was a little confused at the beginning (didn’t help my dog was barking, lol). From the promos I thought that Gillian was going to be coming over for Thanksgiving with Cal and Emily, and it seemed that way, that Cal was cooking while she sat with Emily at the table. But then I could swear I heard Gillian ask Emily “how WAS Thanksgiving dinner?” and when Emily later spoke with Max she mentioned something about the fakeness of having to have holiday dinners with both parents or something to that effect. Was it maybe one of those deals where the child of divorced parents has to go through two separate holidays, one with each household? Or was Gillian over the Lightman house after the fact of the actual holiday itself?

@Jo I believe Gillian was at Cal’s house eating leftover Thanksgiving dinner via turkey sandwiches.

Ok i Loved this episode with a mighty passion lol
Loved the begining with Cal, Gillian, and Emily at his house, very cute.I loved Gillians comments,”your a bit odd….the apron”
and “if this goes bad your paying my bail” lol love it!
Also when Cal and Gillian where watching Emily leave, Cal was like less then a foot away from Gillian, hot!
Did any one else see Cal check Gillian out like 10 times or was it just me?
Loved the ending,”he’ll fit in with us”….LOVE!
Loved the begining the middle and the end, by fare one of my favourte episodes this season.

Wow! I haven’t ever had that feeling about Cal and Gillian being together in a romantic situation. I must be the only one!

I still think bringing in a romance with Cal and Gillian would turn the show into a different direction. I think it could be better to have them date others and maybe get some jealous reactions.

I have to admit, I voted twice. My first reaction after my first viewing was “good.” But then I went back and watched it again after the Hubs went to bed and determined that it was indeed “awesome.” I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but apparently I’m not nearly as clever as the writers who manage to produce scripts that are SO smartly written that it sometimes takes more than one viewing to really get my head around all the details. I sometimes wonder if this is detrimental to the series – whether some people would give up on it cause they miss the little stuff that make the characters so developed and important to many of us. Case in point – the scene in Cal’s office when he’s watching the video of Emily and Max. Gillian describes Max as a “bad boy fixated on finding the truth,” then points out that Emily probably feels like she’s known him her whole life. The importance of that scene really sank in the second time I watched it. They even went as far as to give Max a tattoo. This is just one example of how the writers are really making an effort to further develop the characters through the cases that they work, and I think they’re doing a phenomenal job.

A review of this ep wouldn’t be complete without throwing in my two cents on the whole ‘Callian’ thing. Flashback to last week’s episode – the scene in Gillian’s office when Cal jokes with her about the possibility of Reynold’s “shagging his boss.” The embarrassment that Gillian showed (bravo to Kelli Williams, btw) really left me with the impression that something could be going on between them behind the scenes, so to speak. I kinda figured that I was just grasping at straws though, since all the interviews we’ve seen of the actors and creators indicate that they intend to take that aspect of the show very slowly. But I have to say, many of their scenes together this week further strengthened that notion for me. So here’s my take on it – without showing us anything overtly affectionate, the writers are dropping some pretty strong hints that Cal and Gillian are either together or are rapidly moving in that direction. Maybe they’re testing the waters to see how viewers react, and if nothing else they’re creating more potential for future drama on that front – will they or won’t they, did they already? I like it. It’s how I imagine Cal and Gillian would manage the situation anyway – privately together but all business while at work. I was a huge X-Files fan, but the whole Mulder-Scully thing became so tiresome by the end, and then when they actually showed them together in the most recent movie, it was like a punch in the gut. It just seemed unnatural. If it’s possible, I love Lie to me* even more, and I’m glad that these writers are doing a better job at managing the relationship between our two favorite characters.

And I have just two more words for this post – Milli Vanilli!!
