Fox Orders Three More Scripts of Lie to Me

20 October 2009 at 10:47 am

THR is reporting that Fox has ordered an additional 3 scripts of Lie to Me for this season. While it’s certainly better than one of the alternatives, it’s not as ideal as the full back nine. According to THR: “In the past several years, the broadcast networks regularly ordered additional scripts in lieu of straight back-nine orders.”

THR also reports that while shows such as Glee, One Tree Hill, NCIS:Los Angeles, The Good Wife, Modern Family, Cougar Town, and Flash Forward received back-nine orders, only two other series, Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place, got script orders instead.

So there you have it. Thoughts? Postive? Negative?

:scratching head: Hmm…on one hand, I’m ecstatic that we’re getting three more eps this season! On the other, it makes me wonder if it’s lack of confidence on Fox’s part or just lack of room in their schedule as to why they didn’t pick up the full back 9. :?

@3rdrocker: The reader that sent this in originally linked to TV by the Numbers article. Since they excerpted it from THR, I chose to link there. However, check out the comments on TV by the Numbers’ site. While there are a couple negative ones, there’s some enlightening info, and also a generally positive tone about the show and the possibility of a full back 9. :)

I’m glad to see they ordered 3 more episodes and I’m wondering if the do decide to order 6 more later, it that even an option or has that ever happened before? If so, I’ll just keep hoping that they will order more later, and if not, my new hope will be focused on the fact that a lack of room in the schedule is driving the short order. Mixed emotions again! :)

I loveJennifer Beals and would like it if she was a permanent character, Zoe adds to the show.

@Jackie Entrekin: I definitely think that Zoe adds an interesting element to the show, and would be cool with her coming back. For me, I think the character herself isn’t always supposed to be likeable, but in that, I think Jennifer Beals does a great job of playing the character… if that makes any sense.

@3rdrocker: I added the link… hope that’s okay. :) And yes: negative people do suck! (Well, at least in regards to Lie to Me. :)

I definitely agree with Jackie & Kate, Jennifer Beals should come back to the show more often. Its nice to see whenever Zoe, Cal, and Emily together as a family in a scene.
