What Was Your Favorite Episode From Season One?

14 May 2009 at 6:21 pm

Since season one has officially wrapped up, at least here in the US, it’s time to vote on your favorite episode of the season. After pondering just what yours is, vote in the poll and post your comments below. If there’s enough of a response, I’m going to compile all of the comments related to the favorite ep, (and perhaps the runner-up), and publish your thoughts! So, when you write your comments below, be sure to include which episode you voted for and why.

Now because the show is just premiering in the UK, and because we’re a rather obscure site in this here little corner of the Internet, I’m going to hold off for a while on collecting the comments. Hopefully that will give more people a chance to find the poll and vote. (Which, it seems, they eventually do. ;) But, don’t let that dissuade you. Speaking of which: what are you waiting for? Don’t be shy! Get to it and share your thoughts!

    All right, so I voted for Sacrifice. This was a hard one for me because Blinded was a very, very, close second. I liked it because I got my wish that Gillian would end it with Alec. Now in the season maybe just maybe Cal and Gillain become a couple (sigh) Sorry for being a hopeless romantic! Also really liked the stuff with Torres, her boyfriend, and Lightman. Overall just a great episode!

    I vote for Blinded followed by Better half. I think the character development was at its best in these two episodes, plus the plot line in Blinded was really good.

    Just a note to yourselves and the others that are members of the blog via FriendConnect: I’m working on making it easier for you guys to leave comments when you’re signed in. There’s a little glitch I’m trying to sort out, but haven’t really had time to play with. Hopefully it’ll be working soon.

    Oh I loved Better Half too! Even though I want Cal and Gillian to be become a couple that episode was really funny. I loved the part when Gillian is trying to convince Cal not to take the case that, was really funny. Its nice to see that he doesn’t have total self confidence. :)

    @Celtic:
    Glad to hear it’s okay. Hopefully, when I finally have time to get the change working, it will make things a bit better. It’s just a simple sign in button I’m going to add to the comments section… at least it’s supposed to be simple! :) (It’ll allow your Google FC avatars/icons to show up, and such.)

    @simone and @Dawndapple and @Celtic:
    Better Half did have some funny parts, and it certainly revealed a lot about Lightman. It’s also interesting to see Foster be concerned and protective towards Lightman, (as “a friend”, as she mentioned in her interview). There’s definitely resentment and contention between the two women, and it will be interesting, (at least to me), to see that more next season.

    Oh it will be interesting to for me to see what happens too! I thought it was really funny when Zoe wasn’t happy about Gillian. I may want Lightman and Foster as a couple but I don’t mind a jealous Zoe! :)

    I voted for Unchained. To me, the story lines were perfect reflections of human nature. The murderer changing his ways to become a different person, and the way he dealt with the victim’s widow at the end was beautiful, and a beautiful display of the beauty of the human spirit, and forgiveness, even though the causative factor was just the opposite, showing the depravity the heart can have.

    Then the other story line, again depravity against beauty and love.

    Life encompasses all of that, and everything in between.

    Lastly, the closing scene is the first time Cal challenges Ria to read him…without him saying a word, he lets her begin to see behind his mask….and it’s obvious she is thirsty for that. It marks the beginning of those wonderful and intense scenes with them we have come to love in the later episodes.

    AND…last, but not least..Loker’s comment at the beginning to Gillian about her having a thing for firefighters, and then asking if it’s the helmet, because even he likes the helmet! I was rolling on the floor laughing with that one!

    Thanks for voting and for your thoughts! :) You brought up some interesting things about “Unchained” I hadn’t thought about/remembered.

    Same with me! I totally forgot about some of that in the excitement of some of the other episodes. I also really like the Cal Ria moments. They are a great insight into both characters and can’t wait to see them in the next season.

    “Blinded” is the best episode so far in my opinion and I can’t wait to find the new season 2 episode that gets to be the best of S2!

    They’re all excellent episodes (with the exception of “Undercover” IMO, due to the horrible continuity). My favorite is a toss up between Blinded and Sacrifice. Blinded was just a brilliantly written episode (loved the power war between Cal & Jenkins), but then I love the emotionally charged plots of Sacrifice (most notably Gillian leaving Alec).

    I voted for Blinded. It was really well written and acted. If you have an actor of Tim Roths ability you might as well give him something to get his teeth into. Also the actor that played Andrew Jenkins was very chillingly charming!

    This was reeeeeaaaaallllly tough. I’m a very glass half full kind of person so there’s something in each episode that I love. The episodes that I love as a whole and not just because it had one awesome scene are the Pilot and Do No Harm.
    If I had seen the Pilot first instead of Unchained I would have been hooked for life instantly as it was I only saw the potential. The Pilot is the perfect introduction to this world of deception detection and a perfect introduction to the characters. Normally the characters in a pilot episode are a little unsteady because the writers/actors don’t have a firm grasp yet but, I feel none of that when watching the LTM pilot.
    Do No Harm was a great Gillian episode and gave us a glimpse at Cal’s concern and protectiveness towards her. Plus I always love when Cal and Gillian work a case together. =)

    Its tied between Sacrifice and Blinded. Blinded because it was just awesome. Cal against some one at his own level, freaking cooool lol. And the rescue OMG! Then theres Sacrifice. The look on Cals face when Foster said she was getting a seperation was perfect. I bet he was thinking “YES,FINALLY!!!” LOL it was just awesome

    Hard choice between Blinded and Sacrifice, but Blinded won out for me. Jenkins is a great psycho and I LOVE Cal/Gillian in this episode!

    September 8, 2009 @ 6:55 pm

  22. Gillian

    omg so I voted for love always cause there are so many cute callian (CG Cal/Gillian) scenes. and Cal confronted Gillian’s ** of a husband about who he was on the phone with!! Loved it and my favorite part was when she was like i could dive into that cake fully clothed and the delighted look on his face!
